Life and death info on (Uncle) William John Slorach

William John Slorach was Lillie's uncle.
He was married to Lillie's father's eldest sister, Leila.

The story on him thus far is as follows:

He was born 4 May 1885
in Hutchesontown (Glasgow), Lanarkshire, Scotland
 to father Alexander Slorach
and mother Helen Ingram (Slorach)

He was the second known child in what became a family of seven children (known).

Earliest records show him involved with the railway (as did his father) at age 15 as a telegraph clerk in 1901.
It appears he immigrated to Canada at age 21 (listed as a Locomotive Fireman by trade) in May 1907.

He applied for a homesteading grant in the summer of 1909, but he was listed as a Fireman in the Kenora, Ontario, Canada region when he married "Leila B Jardine" on 31 March 1910.

Marriage register:

Their daughter Helen Eileen Slorach was born just a few months later in September 1910.

(217 Fourth Ave North, Kenora, Ontario... it's the duplex on the right covered by the bush).

The little family lived in Kenora when their daughter married in 1937, and after Leila died in May 1941, at some point William moved to British Columbia and married Martha Krempin.

He died 7 March 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
He was 96 years old.

William's death certificate:

He is apparently buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Burnaby, BC, Canada.
